Nigeria Fashion Week 2026 will make its debut in Abuja from October 1 to 4, bringing together more than 40 Nigerian and international designers for a four-day showcase of fashion, creativity and business opportunities.
The event’s Chief Executive Officer, Lexy Mojo-Eyes, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.
The fashion event will take place at Soul Lounge Resort in Jahi as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary. Mojo-Eyes said the decision to move the event from Lagos to Abuja was aimed at giving designers access to new audiences and markets.
He explained that the event would provide Nigerian designers with an opportunity to showcase their creativity while connecting with international participants. More than 40 designers are expected to present Nigerian and international fashion collections during the programme.
Activities will begin on October 1 with a welcome cocktail organised in partnership with the Africa Business Club. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for October 2 and will be co-hosted by the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy.
The first two days will feature three runway shows daily at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Fashion entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to exhibit their products alongside the runway presentations.
The programme will shift its focus to business and investment on October 4 with the Nigeria Fashion Entrepreneurial Forum, scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The forum will bring together policymakers, financial institutions, fashion entrepreneurs and local and international buyers to explore ways of turning creative ideas into viable businesses.
The event will conclude on October 4 with the Nigeria Fashion Awards and Gala Fashion Night at 6 p.m. The awards will recognise stakeholders who have contributed to the growth and development of Nigeria’s fashion industry. Organisers say the 2026 edition is designed to combine fashion showcases with entrepreneurship, investment and access to wider markets.
