WAEC Appoints Suleiman Kum as New Nigeria National Office Head

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has appointed Suleiman Kum as the new Head of its Nigeria National Office.

Kum takes over from Amos Dangut, who has been appointed WAEC Registrar, marking a change in leadership at the council’s Nigerian office.

In his new role, Kum will oversee the operations of WAEC’s Nigeria National Office as the examination body continues to administer educational assessments across the country.

The Nigeria office plays a key role in coordinating WAEC’s activities involving schools, candidates, education authorities and other stakeholders.

WAEC is responsible for conducting and coordinating examinations, including the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), across its member countries in West Africa.

Kum’s appointment places him at the centre of the council’s examination and assessment activities in Nigeria, which involve millions of students and numerous educational institutions.

His predecessor, Dangut, will now serve at the regional level as WAEC Registrar following his elevation to the position.
