Emeka Rollas Apologises to Regina Daniels, Ned Nwoko Over Marital Crisis Comments

Former Actors Guild of Nigeria President Emeka Rollas has apologised to actress Regina Daniels, her mother Rita Daniels, Senator Ned Nwoko and several Nollywood colleagues over comments he made during the actress’s marital crisis in 2025.

Rollas issued the apology in a statement shared on Instagram on Thursday, saying he had reflected on how he handled the controversy and regretted both the timing and platform he used to express his views.

The former AGN president had publicly commented on the dispute between Regina and Nwoko in November 2025. At the time, he said the actress “needs help” and called out several senior actors whom he claimed had witnessed incidents involving her.

Rollas also criticised Rita Daniels over her involvement in the AGN leadership contest and commented on issues involving Nwoko, who was then the guild’s Board of Patrons chairman.

In his latest statement, however, Rollas said he regretted making the remarks while the Daniels family was experiencing a difficult period. He said a recent encounter with Rita Daniels, during which some people attempted to reconcile them, prompted further reflection.

“Sometimes, with the passage of time, we look back at our actions and realise that being right about an issue does not necessarily mean we handled it the right way,” Rollas said.

He apologised to Rita Daniels and her family, Nwoko and his family, Regina Daniels, the AGN Board of Trustees and several colleagues, including Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Agility and Nazareth Jesse.

Rollas said he was not making the apology with the expectation that it would necessarily be accepted, stressing that those affected had the right to decide whether to forgive him.

“Whether or not anyone chooses to accept my apology is entirely their decision. I am making it because, after looking back, I am not proud of how I handled that moment,” he said.

He added that his position on some of the issues he previously raised had not necessarily changed, but acknowledged responsibility for the way and timing in which he addressed them.

“I may still hold my convictions about some of the issues I raised then, but I take responsibility for my actions and my timing,” Rollas said.
