A former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Aminu Dabo, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), ending his membership of the party in Kano State.

Dabo, who served as chairman of the APC caucus in Dambatta Local Government Area, conveyed his decision in a resignation letter dated October 7, 2026.

The letter was addressed to the chairman of the party in Dambatta Gabas Ward.

In the letter, Dabo said his decision followed careful consideration of personal reasons and his future plans.

He disclosed that he had submitted the resignation letter to the appropriate party officials in Dambatta for further action.

The former NPA chief also expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for the opportunity to serve and the confidence placed in him during his time with the party.

“I remain grateful for the cordial relationship I enjoyed and appreciative of the experience gained during my time of service,” he said.

Dabo previously served as Kano State Commissioner for Land and was also a governorship aspirant in the state.

His resignation comes as political activities continue to build ahead of the 2027 general elections.
