Super Eagles winger Yira Sor has returned to full training after spending around six weeks on the sidelines with an injury, raising hopes that he could feature for Turkish Super Lig side Amedspor against Konyaspor on Saturday.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury during Amedspor’s league encounter against Trabzonspor last month. His absence interrupted his start to the season, having scored once in three league appearances before the setback.
Sor has now resumed training with his teammates and is reportedly in contention for Amedspor’s upcoming fixture against Konyaspor, although his availability will depend on his fitness and the club’s final assessment.
The Nigerian winger’s return comes at a crucial point for Amedspor, who have enjoyed a strong start to their league campaign. The club are unbeaten in their last five Turkish Super Lig matches, recording three draws and two victories.
Amedspor currently sit third in the league table with 14 points from seven matches, putting them in a promising position as the season progresses.
Sor’s pace and attacking ability could provide a boost to the team as they look to maintain their momentum. His return also offers the winger an opportunity to regain match fitness and build on his early-season contribution.
However, it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to start against Konyaspor or feature from the bench as he works his way back following the injury layoff.
For the Super Eagles, Sor’s return to action will also be worth monitoring as the Nigerian international seeks to maintain his fitness and continue his development at club level.
