The Caledonian Charity Cup will return to Ikoyi Club 1938 on October 30, bringing together 25 teams for an 18-hole golf tournament aimed at raising funds for vulnerable children and young people in Lagos.
Organised by the Lagos Caledonian Society, the tournament will donate its net proceeds to Foster Paradise Homes, a Lagos State-registered orphanage that cares for orphans, abandoned children and vulnerable young people.
The event combines Scotland’s rich golfing heritage with charitable giving, using sport to promote community engagement, fellowship and support for children in need.
The 25 registered teams will compete under the names of Scottish towns and locations associated with golf. These include Milngavie, Gullane, Carnoustie, Dundee, North Berwick, Musselburgh, Dornoch and Blairgowrie.
The tournament will use a shotgun start format, allowing teams to begin play simultaneously from different points on the course. The format is expected to create a lively atmosphere while maintaining the competitive spirit of the event.
Following the competition, participants and guests will gather at the clubhouse for a luncheon, an awards ceremony and a live auction. Trophies and prizes will be presented to the winning teams, while the auction will give guests another opportunity to contribute to the fundraising effort.
Corporate partners have also backed the event, with their contributions expected to support the organisation of the tournament and its charitable objectives.
The Lagos Caledonian Society is working with Concierge Sports, the event manager, to deliver the competition and direct the proceeds towards supporting children and young people at Foster Paradise Homes.
Beyond the golf competition, organisers are positioning the Caledonian Charity Cup as an opportunity to bring together businesses, golf enthusiasts and community members around a shared commitment to philanthropy.
