Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has become the first African artiste to surpass 12 billion streams on Spotify across all credits.

The milestone was announced on Monday by WizStatz, a music statistics account on X, which tracks the singer’s achievements and streaming figures.

In a post tagging the singer’s official account, WizStatz wrote: “WIZKID (@wizkidayo) becomes the first African Artist to surpass 12 Billion Streams On Spotify Across All Credits.”

The total includes streams from songs released by Wizkid as a solo artiste, as well as collaborations and guest appearances on tracks by other musicians.

The achievement further strengthens the singer’s position among Africa’s most successful music exports, reflecting the reach of his catalogue across solo releases and collaborative projects.

The latest milestone follows another major streaming achievement in May 2026, when Wizkid became the first African artiste to record 11 billion Spotify streams across all credits.

His latest record marks an increase of one billion streams since that achievement, underscoring the continued consumption of his music on the global streaming platform.

Wizkid has remained a leading figure in the international growth of Afrobeats, with his music reaching listeners across different markets through solo projects and collaborations.
