Borriello Urges Juventus to Sign Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray

Former Italy international Marco Borriello has urged Juventus to pursue a move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, describing the Galatasaray forward as a potential solution to the club’s search for a top-class centre-forward.

Juventus are looking to strengthen their attack as they seek to re-establish themselves among Europe’s leading clubs. Borriello believes Osimhen’s physical qualities and previous experience in Italian football make him a strong candidate for the role.

The Nigerian striker previously played for Napoli, where he established himself as one of Europe’s most effective goalscorers. Across 133 appearances in all competitions, Osimhen scored 76 goals and provided 18 assists.

His contribution helped Napoli win the Serie A title, ending the club’s 33-year wait for the Italian championship and further raising his profile among Europe’s elite forwards.

Borriello highlighted Osimhen’s strength and familiarity with Serie A while stressing that Juventus need a striker capable of delivering at the highest level.

“I want a great number nine. Osimhen? Maybe. He’s strong, he knows Serie A and Spalletti. But beyond Osimhen, we need a top-level striker,” Borriello told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Osimhen has continued to produce impressive numbers this season, recording nine goals and three assists in nine appearances, according to the figures provided in the report.

However, a potential move back to Italy could face financial complications. Reports suggest that Napoli included an anti-Italy clause in the agreement that allowed Osimhen to join Galatasaray.

Under the reported provision, Galatasaray would be required to pay Napoli a financial penalty if they sold the striker to a Serie A club before the end of the 2027 summer transfer window. The clause could therefore complicate any attempt by Juventus to bring the Nigerian international back to Italian football.
