2027 Election: Deji Adeyanju Predicts Tinubu Will Defeat Atiku, Says No Candidate Can Match His Nationwide Support

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will defeat former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in the January 16, 2027 presidential election, insisting that no opposition candidate can match the president’s expected nationwide support.

Adeyanju made the prediction on Friday while outlining what he described as one of the major reasons Tinubu could emerge victorious in the forthcoming election.

In a post on X, the human rights lawyer argued that Tinubu would secure at least 25 per cent of the votes in every state across the federation, including Adamawa, Anambra, Kano and Oyo.

He maintained that no other presidential candidate would be able to achieve similar results across such a wide geographical spread.

“I see Tinubu defeating Atiku in January because of many reasons but let me highlight only one today. Tinubu will get 25% votes in every state in Nigeria including Adamawa, Anambra, Kano and Oyo. No other candidate can pull such numbers. Read this carefully again,” Adeyanju wrote.

He further suggested that northern Nigeria could play a decisive role in the election, expressing confidence that voters in the region had the capacity to deliver a strong performance for Tinubu.

“It’s only northern Nigeria we should be expecting miracle from. And they have the capacity to do so,” he added.

Tinubu is expected to face several opposition figures in the 2027 presidential contest, including Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside other contenders.

The political atmosphere has intensified with the commencement of campaign activities, as Atiku continues to criticise several policies of the Tinubu administration, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy.
