Adeleke Receives Osun Governor’s Certificate of Return, Celebrates Re-Election Victory With Dance

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after securing victory in the 2026 governorship election.

The electoral body presented the certificate to Adeleke on Wednesday, formally confirming his mandate to serve a second term as governor of Osun State.

The governor’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, Olalekan Badmus, announced the development in a post on X, sharing images from the presentation ceremony.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke receives Certificate of Return from @inecnigeria as the winner of August 15th, 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun,” Badmus wrote.

Adeleke’s victory was confirmed after INEC declared him winner of the August 15 governorship poll, where he defeated his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The incumbent governor, who contested under the Accord Party, won 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11 local government areas.

A video from the ceremony showed Adeleke in a celebratory mood, singing and dancing as supporters joined him to mark the official confirmation of his re-election.

Following his victory announcement, Adeleke thanked Osun residents and promised to build on his achievements while addressing areas where his administration fell short.

The Certificate of Return presentation marks the completion of another major electoral process as Adeleke prepares for his second term in office.
