AFCON Qualifier: Chelle Set to Bench Ndidi, Chukwueze as Super Eagles Face Guinea-Bissau

BISSAU — Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle is expected to make at least three changes to his starting line-up for Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.

According to SCORENigeria, captain Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze and Al-Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena are set to start on the bench.

Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka and Taiwo Awoniyi are expected to replace the trio in the starting XI.

Chelle is, however, expected to retain the same back four that started Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Madagascar’s Barea on Friday.

Atlético Madrid winger Ademola Lookman and striker Akor Adams are also expected to feature in the starting line-up against the Wild Dogs.

Guinea-Bissau will host the Super Eagles at the September 24 Stadium in Bissau, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time.

The encounter is part of Nigeria’s campaign in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying competition.
