Nigerians have been urged to remain patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his administration continues to implement reforms aimed at strengthening the economy and improving the country’s global standing.

The appeal came from Chief Charles Orie, an APC chieftain in Imo State, who commended the President for what he described as significant achievements in governance, diplomacy and economic management since assuming office.

Speaking with journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, before departing for consultations in London and North America, Orie said Tinubu’s leadership has enhanced Nigeria’s reputation on the international stage through proactive foreign policy and bold economic decisions.

He specifically praised the appointment of Bianca Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, describing her as an experienced diplomat whose contributions have strengthened Nigeria’s engagement with the international community.

“One of the commendable decisions of President Tinubu is the appointment of Her Excellency Bianca Ojukwu as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Her wealth of experience, diplomatic skills and commitment to national service have continued to strengthen Nigeria’s engagement with the international community and project the country’s interests effectively,” Orie said.

The APC stalwart also applauded the Federal Government for facilitating the evacuation and free airlifting of stranded Nigerians from South Africa, describing the move as evidence of the administration’s commitment to protecting the welfare of citizens abroad.

Highlighting what he described as the gains of the government’s economic reforms, Orie pointed to the disappearance of the persistent fuel queues that once plagued filling stations across the country. He acknowledged that the reforms have come with short-term difficulties but insisted they are necessary to address long-standing structural challenges.

“While every reform comes with temporary challenges, the long-term benefits will outweigh the initial difficulties. The administration has shown determination to tackle longstanding problems and lay a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and national development,” he stated.

Orie appealed to Nigerians not to lose faith in the administration, urging citizens to support the government’s efforts as the reforms continue to take shape.

“Nation-building requires sacrifice, resilience and collective support. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria, and with patience and unity, the country will reap the full benefits of these reforms,” he added.

He also expressed confidence in the leadership of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, commending his administration for infrastructure projects, including the Orashi Electricity Project and ongoing road construction across the state.
