Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has criticised Nigerians attacking luxury shopper Kaycee Luxury following his arrest by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over an alleged N39 billion cocaine-related case.
Bobrisky accused many critics of abandoning the luxury shopper after his legal troubles became public, claiming that some people who previously praised him were now quick to condemn him.
In a statement shared on social media, Bobrisky described the reaction as a reflection of what he called widespread hypocrisy among Nigerians, saying some people only speak out against others when they face difficulties.
“Nigerians are the biggest hypocrites. So many of you have a lot to say about KC Luxury now, but you couldn’t say any of it to his face before he got arrested,” Bobrisky wrote.
He alleged that some individuals who once celebrated Kaycee Luxury changed their attitude after his arrest, adding that people should be careful about judging others based only on moments of controversy.
Bobrisky clarified that he was not claiming to be friends with the accused luxury shopper but said genuine friendships should not disappear immediately because of allegations or legal challenges.
“I will never deny any of my friends regardless of his/her offense. I will condemn his act but still stand tall for him or her,” he said.
He also criticised those he described as close associates who had distanced themselves from Kaycee Luxury following the allegations, saying difficult situations often reveal the strength of personal relationships.
The NDLEA had reportedly arrested Kaycee Luxury over allegations linked to cocaine possession involving a large financial value. The case has generated significant reactions online, with public opinions divided over the allegations and the response from people connected to him.
Bobrisky’s comments have added another layer to the debate, with many Nigerians continuing to discuss loyalty, accountability and how public figures are treated during controversies.
