Cristiano Ronaldo has left the Portugal national team camp, with the Portuguese Football Federation confirming his departure without providing an explanation.
The federation said the 41-year-old forward had departed the camp but gave no details about what prompted the decision.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has left the national team camp,” the federation said in a statement.
It added: “Our preparations for the next games continue with our 24 players with maximum focus on the results.”
Ronaldo’s departure follows Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Norway in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday, a match in which the Al Nassr captain remained on the bench for the entire game.
The Portugal captain was reportedly seen leaving after the final whistle without acknowledging supporters. He has since travelled to Madrid.
Ronaldo had indicated that he would reveal the “truth” about why he left the national team camp, but no further explanation had been provided at the time of filing this report.
The Portuguese Football Federation has not linked his departure to any specific incident, while details surrounding the decision remain unclear. Portugal will continue preparations with the remaining 24 players in the squad.
