The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, has called for stronger cooperation between security agencies and local communities to combat abductions and other criminal activities across the state.
Rabiu made the appeal during a security patrol covering the Eastern Bypass, Rido Village, Maraban Rido, Unguwan Luka and Izam community in Igabi Local Government Area.
The police chief said closer collaboration with residents would improve security operations and help address persistent threats facing communities. He expressed confidence that timely information from the public would enable officers to prevent attacks and respond more effectively to emerging dangers.
During the patrol, Rabiu met with traditional rulers and residents who raised complaints and shared concerns about security in their areas. The engagement formed part of efforts to strengthen communication between the police and local communities.
He urged residents and community leaders to report suspicious individuals and movements promptly, stressing that public cooperation was essential to preventing crime and maintaining peace.
Rabiu assured residents that information supplied to the police would be handled confidentially and professionally. He said credible intelligence from the public would help officers respond swiftly to threats, prevent criminal attacks and build stronger relationships with residents.
The patrol also covered Unguwan Luka and Izam communities, where officers assessed local security concerns as part of ongoing efforts to improve police-community relations across Kaduna State.
The commissioner’s appeal comes amid continued concerns about abductions and insecurity in parts of Kaduna, with authorities seeking stronger grassroots cooperation to support crime prevention and protect lives and property.
