Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, has sparked reactions on social media after a video emerged showing him presenting his daughter, Damilola Ayinde Marshal, to Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, at an event.
In the viral footage circulated on Sunday, the veteran musician called his daughter forward while singing in Yoruba before telling Hamzat, “I hand her over to you.”
Hamzat responded with laughter and gestured towards a seat for Damilola, who appeared amused by her father’s playful gesture. The moment has drawn attention online, with the presentation interpreted as a light-hearted show of support for her political ambition.
Damilola is seeking election to represent Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly during the 2027 general elections.
She declared her intention to contest the seat on March 17, 2026, in a post on her Instagram page, expressing her readiness to serve residents of the constituency.
The lawyer said her 12 years of legal practice had equipped her with valuable experience and insight into governance, justice and the needs of the community she hopes to represent.
She also pledged to champion the interests of young people, describing herself as prepared to serve and provide leadership if elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Beyond her legal career and political ambition, Damilola currently serves as Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism.
Her father’s public gesture has added a fresh dimension to attention surrounding her planned entry into elective politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
