
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, as his presidential campaign coordinator in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju.
According to the statement, Adeniran will also serve as the Director-General of the Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State.
The APM has already nominated Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi, a former Commissioner for Finance under the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The campaign council also includes Mr. Saheed Arowosaye, a former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, who will serve as deputy coordinator. The state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Demola Ojo, has been named Deputy Director-General (South).
According to Olanrewaju, the appointments are part of preparations for the party’s campaigns ahead of the next election cycle in Oyo State.
The statement added that Governor Makinde, who is the APM presidential candidate, is expected to formally inaugurate the campaign council on Friday at the conference room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
The inauguration is expected to officially kick off the party’s campaign structure in the state as preparations gather momentum ahead of the 2027 polls.
