Moyo Lawal Fires Back at Man Age-Shaming Her, Says She Won’t Be Pushed Out of Nollywood

Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has hit back at a man who criticised her age and accused her of refusing to leave the entertainment industry, allegedly arguing that her continued presence was denying younger actresses opportunities.

The man reportedly accused Lawal of “not giving younger hoes a chance” and questioned why she had continued to remain active in the industry.

Responding to the criticism, the actress challenged the man’s remarks, questioning whether her appearance was the reason for his comments. She also addressed her past relationship and rejected insinuations about her private life.

In a lengthy response, Lawal said: “You are pained because I look amazing? Because I left a man who’s feeble brained could not stand losing me and tried to destroy me at a time? Me and sleeping around have nothing in common.”

The actress has previously faced public scrutiny over her personal life, particularly following the leak of an intimate video involving her in 2023.

Since then, Lawal has continued to push back against online criticism and attempts to shame her over her private and sexual life.

Her latest response has brought renewed attention to the criticism some entertainers face over their age, appearance and continued participation in the industry.

Lawal has not indicated that she intends to step away from Nollywood.
