National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has hosted the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, in Abuja, praising his efforts to strengthen the party across northern Nigeria.

Dickson said Kwankwaso was given the responsibility of leading the NDC’s party-building efforts across the 19 northern states and had performed strongly despite the limited time available for the assignment.

The former Bayelsa State governor said the party appreciated Kwankwaso’s experience, political capacity and extensive network, adding that his intervention had helped address several issues within the party.

Dickson disclosed that Kwankwaso had engaged with the party’s governorship and National Assembly candidates, as well as other stakeholders across the northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.

He said recommendations arising from those engagements would be considered by the party as it continues preparations for the 2027 general election.

Dickson also recalled his own efforts to build the party over the past nine months, saying he had held meetings with stakeholders across the states, addressed internal concerns and encouraged members to work with their respective state leaders.

According to him, Kwankwaso’s involvement over the past two weeks had helped resolve several matters that would otherwise have required his personal attention.

Dickson expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the election, saying the NDC would continue working toward victory while thanking party leaders and candidates for their cooperation and support.
