‘Nepo Babies Don’t Have Access to Cash Like You Think’ — Sharon Adeleke

Sharon Adeleke, the sister of Nigerian singer Davido and daughter of billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke, has offered an insight into the financial lives of children from wealthy families, saying they do not necessarily have unlimited access to cash as many people assume.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Sharon said children of millionaires and billionaires generally enjoy privileges beyond what the average person has, but are often expected to operate within budgets set by their families.

She explained that wealthy parents may pay their children’s school fees and provide assets such as land and properties, but the beneficiaries are often expected to turn those assets into sources of income rather than simply receiving large amounts of cash.

“A lot of Nepo babies don’t really have access to cash the way you guys make it seem. They have more than the average person, but they are always on a budget. Your school fees are paid, you are given land and properties, but you have to make use of them,” she said.

Sharon also disclosed that she holds regular financial meetings with Davido to review his spending and keep track of how his money is being used.

“Me and Davido would sit and have a finance meeting every week because I think it is important for him to know how his money is being spent,” she said.

According to Sharon, she has also advised the singer to reduce his spending on luxury cars, suggesting that his finances should be managed with greater attention to long-term priorities.

Her comments come amid renewed attention to Davido’s spending on high-end automobiles. The singer recently claimed during a livestream with streamer Davrel that he paid $11 million for a custom-made Bugatti.

The vehicle is reportedly expected to be delivered to Nigeria, adding to the growing list of luxury purchases associated with the Afrobeats star.
