Nigeria Condemns Deadly Attack on Riyadh Airport, Calls for Restraint

Nigeria has condemned a reported deadly attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after dozens of civilians were reportedly killed or injured in the strikes.

The Nigerian government described the attacks as a dangerous escalation and a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, expressing concern over the reported casualties and the threat to civilian infrastructure.

The Houthis, an armed group based in Yemen, claimed responsibility for the attacks and warned airlines and passengers against using Saudi airports and airspace.

Nigeria called on all parties involved to exercise restraint, protect civilians and avoid actions that could further destabilise the region.

Abuja also urged those involved to pursue diplomatic solutions, stressing the need to prevent further escalation and reduce the risk of additional civilian casualties.

The reported strikes have renewed concerns about regional security in the Middle East, particularly the safety of airports, airlines, passengers and other civilian facilities amid rising tensions.

The situation remains a concern for governments and the international community as efforts to prevent further violence continue.
