Nigerian Army Honours Four Retiring Personnel in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army’s 1 Division has honoured four retiring personnel for their years of service, loyalty and sacrifice to the nation.

The retirees were celebrated during a send-off ceremony held on Wednesday at the 1 Division Auditorium in Kaduna.

The event was hosted by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division and Commander, Sector 1 Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Wase.

Speaking at the ceremony, Wase commended the retiring personnel for what he described as their “steadfast commitment and invaluable contributions” to the Nigerian Army.

He said the ceremony reflected the Army’s longstanding culture of recognising personnel who had served the nation with dedication and commitment.

Wase also described the event as a demonstration of the “deep bond and esprit de corps” among members of the Nigerian Army, stressing that such relationships go beyond rank and file.

According to the GOC, the bond developed among personnel during their years of service remains an important part of the Army’s institutional culture.

He further noted that honouring retiring personnel was a way of appreciating their contributions and recognising the sacrifices made during their years in uniform.

The ceremony marked the retirees’ transition from active military service while giving colleagues and commanders an opportunity to acknowledge their service to the Nigerian Army and the country.
