Nigerian Navy Warns Against Fake 2026 Batch 39 Recruitment Notice

The Nigerian Navy has warned members of the public against a fake recruitment notice circulating on social media, claiming to announce the 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise.

The Director of Naval Information, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, said in a statement on Monday that the circulating notice was not authorised by the Nigerian Navy and should not be regarded as an official recruitment announcement.

Folorunsho urged prospective applicants to be cautious and avoid relying on recruitment information shared through unofficial social media accounts, websites or other platforms.

He said details about any genuine Nigerian Navy recruitment exercise, including eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines and available categories, would be communicated only through the service’s authorised channels.

The Navy also warned members of the public against making payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms claiming to facilitate recruitment. According to the service, its recruitment exercise is free of charge.

“The Nigerian Navy does not authorise third parties to recruit applicants or collect recruitment fees on its behalf,” Folorunsho said.

He advised anyone interested in joining the Nigerian Navy to verify recruitment announcements through the service’s official communication channels and avoid acting on unverified information.

The Navy said it remains committed to ensuring a transparent and credible recruitment process and will continue to provide accurate updates to the public through its authorised platforms.
