Nkechi Blessing Fires Back at Critics After Phyna Boxing Defeat: ‘I’m Over N50m Richer’

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has responded to critics who mocked her after her defeat to BBNaija star Phyna in their celebrity boxing bout in Lagos.

Nkechi was stopped by a fourth-round technical knockout at the “Chaos in the Ring” event held at the Federal Palace Hotel on Thursday, October 1.

Rather than dwell on the loss, the actress turned her attention to the financial reward from the bout while responding to those who branded her a loser.

“To all of you calling me a loser, I’m over N50 million richer. Are you?” Nkechi said in a social media post.

Her response came amid online reactions to the outcome of the fight, with some critics using the defeat to mock the actress following her participation in the high-profile celebrity boxing event.

Phyna secured the victory with a fourth-round technical knockout after both women went through the scheduled bout at the Lagos venue.

Nkechi had earlier played down the significance of the defeat, describing herself as “still a champion” despite losing the contest.

The actress also revealed that she had only trained for two days before stepping into the ring, saying she had never previously been involved in a physical fight.

The celebrity boxing event attracted significant attention from fans and social media users, with the Phyna-Nkechi bout emerging as one of the major talking points from the night.

Following her defeat, Phyna turned her attention to another potential celebrity boxing contest, challenging actress Etinosa Idemudia to a bout and declaring that her time was overdue.
