Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has provided an update on her condition following an ankle injury sustained during Nigeria’s second-leg encounter against Comoros in the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games.
The 26-year-old forward was forced off in the 23rd minute after colliding with an opponent, with Folashade Ijamilusi coming on as her replacement.
Reports have suggested that Ajibade could require surgery, potentially keeping her out of action for an extended period. However, the Nigerian captain has clarified that medical assessments are still ongoing and that no definitive update on the nature or severity of her injury is available yet.
In a message posted on her official X account, Ajibade thanked her teammates, family, technical and medical staff, and supporters for their encouragement following the incident.
