Rivers Police Query, Remove Abuloma DPO, Outpost Officer Over Viral Video Alleging Cultists Renovated Facility

The Rivers State Police Command has queried and relieved the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Abuloma Division and the officer overseeing the Abuloma Police Outpost following a viral video alleging that suspected cultists renovated the facility.
The video, which has circulated widely on social media, allegedly shows suspected cultists at the police outpost celebrating the completion of renovation work.
Reacting to the development, the command said the incident raised concerns about the integrity, discipline and professional standards expected of officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement issued on Friday, the police spokesperson, ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, said the command would not tolerate criminality or any conduct capable of undermining public confidence in the police.
The statement noted that the decision to query and relieve the two officers of their duties was taken under the leadership of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju.
“Consequently, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Abuloma Division and the Divisional Officer overseeing the affected Police Outpost have been queried and relieved of their duties pending investigation,” the statement said.
The command also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police had ordered a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and establish the truth of the allegations contained in the viral video.
The investigation is expected to clarify how the renovation allegedly took place and whether there was any misconduct by police personnel. The command has yet to announce its findings.
