Top 10 Footballers With Biggest Wage Increases After Summer Transfers

The summer transfer window has delivered major financial gains for several football stars, with moves to Saudi Arabia and some of Europe’s biggest clubs leading to substantial increases in weekly wages.

Ollie Watkins reportedly recorded the biggest increase, with his weekly salary rising from £130,000 at Aston Villa to £410,618 after his move to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. The three-year deal is said to have more than tripled the England forward’s previous earnings.

Barcelona midfielder Rodri ranks second after reportedly seeing his weekly wages increase from £220,000 at Manchester City to £444,782. The figure would make him Barcelona’s highest-paid player, according to the reported estimates.

Manchester City’s Elliot Anderson is third, following a dramatic rise from £40,000 per week at Nottingham Forest to a reported £250,000 at City. His £210,000 increase represents more than a six-fold jump in weekly earnings.

Crysencio Summerville also secured a huge pay rise after leaving West Ham for Al Hilal. The Dutch winger’s reported salary has climbed from £45,000 to £234,709 per week, an increase of £189,709.

Enzo Fernandez completes the top five. The Argentina international reportedly moved from £180,000 per week at Chelsea to £350,000 at Manchester City after completing a £125 million transfer, making him the club’s record signing.

Gabriel Martinelli is sixth on the list, with his reported weekly wages rising from £180,000 at Arsenal to approximately £330,646 following his move to Al Hilal. The reported increase is £150,646 per week.

Marco Palestra has recorded one of the biggest percentage increases. The defender’s reported salary has jumped from £4,599 at Atalanta and during his loan spell at Cagliari to £150,000 per week after joining Chelsea, representing a £145,401 increase.

Mateus Fernandes ranks eighth after another significant rise in his earnings. The midfielder reportedly went from £20,000 per week at Southampton to £60,000 at West Ham before his latest move took his reported salary to £200,000, an increase of £140,000 from his West Ham wages.

Francisco Trincao follows with a reported weekly increase of £136,983. The former Barcelona and Wolves winger reportedly moved from Sporting CP to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli, with his salary rising from £64,056 to £201,039.

Bradley Barcola rounds out the top 10 after reportedly securing a £130,592 weekly increase following his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool. His reported salary has risen from £119,408 to £250,000 per week.
