Troops Rescue Abducted Soldier in Plateau After Sustained Operation

Troops operating under Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a Nigerian Army soldier who was abducted at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, NATC, Miango Range, in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The soldier, identified as Corporal Amos Bala, was reportedly abducted on September 27, 2026, at the military training facility.

Security sources told security expert Zagazola Makama that Bala was released by his abductors at about 9:00 p.m. on September 28 following sustained pressure from troops conducting rescue operations in the area.

The operation was reportedly intensified after the soldier was taken, with troops maintaining pressure on the abductors as they worked to secure his release.

Bala was said to have sustained injuries during his captivity. He was immediately evacuated to the NATC Medical Centre after his rescue for medical attention.

The rescue adds to ongoing military operations aimed at responding to security threats and protecting personnel and communities in parts of Plateau State.

Authorities have not provided further details on the circumstances of the abduction or whether any arrests were made in connection with the incident.

The soldier is currently receiving treatment as efforts continue to address security challenges around the Miango area.
