Tyson Fury Claims Anthony Joshua Is Pulling Out, Challenges Oleksandr Usyk to Trilogy Fight

Tyson Fury has claimed Anthony Joshua is backing out of their proposed all-British heavyweight clash and has now challenged Oleksandr Usyk to a third fight.

Fury, 38, and Joshua have been in negotiations for a long-awaited bout expected to take place in November, but the venue and final confirmation are yet to be announced. Fury has grown increasingly frustrated by the delay and recently labelled Joshua a “coward”.

In an expletive-laden video posted on Instagram, the former heavyweight champion said he was now looking for another opponent, alleging that Joshua was pulling out of the fight.

“This will only lead me to a fight with Oleksandr Usyk,” Fury said. He then called on the Ukrainian to face him again, saying: “Let’s do it again. Let’s run it back in November.”

Fury has already suffered two defeats to Usyk, who became a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion after their previous encounters. Joshua, meanwhile, has been working with Usyk’s training team, adding another layer of intrigue to Fury’s latest comments.

The proposed Fury-Joshua showdown has been widely expected to take place in November, with Madison Square Garden in New York reportedly the leading venue. However, Joshua’s camp is understood to prefer Wembley Stadium in London.

Sela, the Saudi state-owned promotional company financing the proposed bout, and streaming giant Netflix are reportedly in favour of staging the fight in the United States. With the venue still unresolved, Fury’s latest outburst has raised fresh doubts over whether the highly anticipated British heavyweight clash will happen as planned.
