Uche Odoputa Announces Emotional Empty-Casket Funeral For Late Father

Nollywood actor Uche Odoputa has announced that his family will hold an empty-casket funeral for his late father, Mr Kenneth Chukwumezie Odoputa, because they have no remains to bury.

The actor shared the emotional news in a social media post, revealing that the family plans to honour his father in the coming weeks despite the absence of his body.

Odoputa explained that although they would not have physical remains to lay to rest, the family remained determined to celebrate his father’s life and preserve the memories they shared.

He described the planned ceremony as an opportunity to recognise his father’s legacy, honour his dignity and express the love they still have for him.

“We have no body to lay to rest, but we have his life to remember, his dignity to honour and our love to express,” the actor wrote.

The Nollywood star also referred to his late father as “Honestman”, assuring that the family would continue to celebrate his memory.

Beyond announcing the funeral, Odoputa used the moment to encourage people experiencing grief to speak with trusted individuals and seek emotional support rather than face their pain alone.

“Dad, we love you. We remember you. We will always honour you,” he added.
