Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has declared that the Rainbow Coalition has no presence in the state, expressing confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the 2027 general elections through what he described as organic votes.
Uzodinma made the statement on Tuesday during the distribution of campaign vehicles under the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Imo State.
The governor maintained that the APC was the only recognised political party in the state, urging residents and party supporters to vote for APC candidates across all levels in the forthcoming elections.
He also expressed confidence that Imo State would deliver electoral victory for President Bola Tinubu and the APC in 2027.
The governor’s remarks come amid political activity surrounding the Rainbow Coalition, a multi-party alliance that has unveiled candidates in Rivers State ahead of the next general elections.
While Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his support for the coalition led by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Uzodinma insisted that the alliance had no foothold in Imo.
The Rainbow Coalition comprises seven political parties, including the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Action Alliance (AA), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party (LP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Boot Party.
Uzodinma’s comments underscore the contrasting political positions emerging among leaders as parties and alliances prepare for the 2027 elections.
