The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a three-day electricity disruption across parts of Lagos and Ogun State to carry out maintenance on the Ala/Alagbon 330 kV transmission line. The outage is scheduled from November 26 to 29, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily.
TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah explained that the exercise will allow contractors to install wave traps on the 330kV line bays at the Aja and Alagbon Transmission Substations. During the maintenance, power from the Alagbon Substation will be rerouted to the Ijora 132kV line, while supplies to Akoka and Oworo Transmission Substations will divert to the Ikeja West 132kV line.
While the maintenance may cause brief load disruptions, TCN assured consumers that electricity supply will continue across most affected areas, including Ojo, Festac, Ijora, Mushin, Apapa, Lekki, Lagos Island, Agbara, and parts of Ogun State covered by the Eko Electricity Distribution Company.
“TCN regrets any inconvenience this may cause and appeals for understanding,” the agency said. The company emphasized that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of Lagos’s transmission infrastructure.
This follows previous maintenance exercises in July and October 2025, which also resulted in temporary blackouts across parts of Lagos. Consumers are advised to prepare for potential fluctuations during the scheduled maintenance window.
