2027: Kwankwaso Will Ruin Peter Obi’s Presidential Ambition – Primate Ayodele Warns

Fresh political drama has hit the 2027 presidential race after the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, warned that any alliance between Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso could end badly for the former Labour Party presidential candidate.

Ayodele claimed Obi was becoming too desperate in his quest for power and accused him of ignoring what he described as divine direction concerning his political future.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric alleged that Kwankwaso was not genuinely committed to Obi’s ambition and would eventually act in his own personal interest.

“Peter Obi doesn’t listen to divine instructions, and because of this, he has fallen into the wrong hands for his ambition,” Ayodele said.

He further claimed that the former Kano governor had already weakened Obi’s chances ahead of the 2027 election, even though the former Anambra governor was yet to realise it.

“Kwankwaso isn’t ready to fight for him; he will eventually sell him out, but he doesn’t know it yet. He has already muddled Obi’s presidential ambition,” the cleric added.

Ayodele maintained that Kwankwaso’s political calculations were driven mainly by self-interest and warned that Obi could discover the alleged betrayal when it might already be too late to reverse the damage.

Despite his criticism, the cleric insisted he had no personal issues with Obi, describing him as courageous but not fully prepared for the presidency.

“I don’t hate Peter Obi, I love him and his courage, but he is not yet mature for the position he is seeking,” Ayodele stated.

The comments come amid increasing political realignments and coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general election, with opposition figures exploring possible alliances capable of challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress.
