
A coordinated response by security operatives has foiled a suspected bandit attack on Gangaren Makurdi Village in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, forcing the attackers to flee before causing any harm.
The incident was disclosed by security analyst Bakatsine in a post shared on X on Friday.
According to the report, the suspected bandits stormed the village on Thursday night, prompting residents to alert security authorities through a distress call.
Troops of the 17 Brigade, working alongside members of the Vigilante Group and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), responded swiftly to the emergency.
The rapid deployment of the joint security team reportedly disrupted the attackers’ plans and compelled them to retreat before launching an assault on the community.
Sharing details of the operation, Bakatsine wrote: “Last night, bandits entered Gangaren Makurdi village in Bakori LGA of Katsina State, prompting a distress alert to security authorities.
“Troops of 17 Brigade, in collaboration with Vigilante Group and CJTF operatives, responded swiftly. Their rapid deployment forced the bandits to flee before they could carry out an attack.
“Kudos to the troops, Vigilante Group and CJTF operatives for their swift response, professionalism and commitment to protecting lives and communities.”
There were no reported casualties or property damage, while security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident
