Manchester United Target Two More Signings Before September 1 Transfer Deadline

Manchester United are reportedly planning to make two more signings before the summer transfer window closes on September 1, 2026, as manager Michael Carrick continues to reshape his squad.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils have identified Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall as a potential addition at left-back. United are looking to strengthen the position and view the former Chelsea player as an option.

Newcastle, however, are keen to keep Hall at St James’ Park beyond the current season and could resist Manchester United’s interest in the defender.

United are also working on another midfield signing, with the club expected to make further moves in the final days of the transfer window.

The Manchester club have already been active in the market, bringing in midfielder Youri Tielemans, midfielder Andrey Santos, goalkeeper Karl Darlow and young winger Tynan Thompson.

The arrivals have added depth across several areas of the squad, while United have also welcomed back Marcus Rashford following his loan spell at Barcelona.

With the September 1 deadline approaching, Carrick’s side now have limited time to complete their remaining business. A new left-back and midfielder would further strengthen a squad that has already undergone significant changes this summer.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Hall could prove particularly difficult, given Newcastle’s reported determination to retain the 21-year-old. The club will therefore have to move quickly if it wants to secure both remaining targets before the window shuts.
