2027: Deputy Chief Whip Isiaka Urges APC Members to Unite After Ogun Primary

Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Ibrahim Isiaka Ayokunle, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Ogun State, to reconcile after the party’s primary election and work together ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Isiaka said the primary had ended and produced candidates for the various elective positions, stressing that members should put their differences aside and avoid actions capable of weakening the party’s unity.

He made the call on Thursday at a meeting of APC supporters convened under the EasyLife Movement in Ifo, where he addressed his supporters and appealed for greater cohesion within the party.

The Deputy Chief Whip also reaffirmed his support for the APC candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Adijat Adeleye. The meeting was attended by party leaders, local government and ward executives, as well as other stakeholders from Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas.

Those present included former Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker Olakunle Oluomo and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ganiyu Hamzat.

Isiaka said the APC had recorded steady growth in its electoral performance in the federal constituency across previous election cycles. He expressed confidence that the party could increase its votes in 2027 if members remained united and focused on the election.

Former Ogun APC Chairman, Derin Adebiyi, also urged party members to move beyond the primary contest and prevent disagreements from turning into lasting divisions. He said the meeting was organised at Isiaka’s instance to strengthen unity among his supporters and the wider APC family.

Adebiyi encouraged members to return to their wards, reconcile with one another and begin mobilisation for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Adeleye, the APC candidate, described the gathering as evidence that the party was bigger than individual ambitions. She called on party leaders, former aspirants, women, youths and ward executives to embrace genuine reconciliation.

Adeleye also pledged to work with all members of the party, regardless of their positions during the primary, and urged them to return to their wards with renewed commitment to secure what she described as massive votes for the APC in Ifo/Ewekoro and across Ogun State in 2027.
