The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that Nigeria could experience crisis and chaos if President Bola Tinubu loses the 2027 presidential election.
Ayodele made the prediction in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, warning that the aftermath of such an outcome could have far-reaching consequences for the country and take a long time to resolve.
The cleric claimed that Tinubu and his supporters were confident of securing victory, adding that an unexpected defeat could trigger serious political tensions.
He further predicted that several politicians could lose their political influence if the president failed to win re-election.
“If Tinubu loses this election, there will be so many crises, and it will take a long time to settle down; it will be an unimaginable manifestation because he believes he will win already. If he loses the election, it will be bloody because a lot of politicians will go into oblivion,” Ayodele said.
The cleric also warned of possible attempts to prevent the announcement of election results and predicted that the outcome could trigger ethnic tensions across the country.
“There will be several attempts to stop the announcement of results. The election can cause an ethnic crisis; it will take time for him to decide if he will release power or not,” he added.
Commenting on the electoral prospects of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayodele said the party’s victory in the 2027 presidential election was not guaranteed.
According to him, the ruling party’s confidence could be misplaced, while a defeat for Tinubu could have significant political consequences and potentially affect Nigeria’s electoral process.
“APC victory is shaking, but they don’t believe anyone can defeat them, and Tinubu doesn’t see beyond the Presidency. A lot of people will cry if he loses the election. It will be unbelievable and painful to so many. If Tinubu loses the election, it can change the electoral process in Nigeria,” the cleric said.
Ayodele’s statements are predictions about a future election and its possible aftermath. They do not establish that violence, attempts to obstruct result announcements or an ethnic crisis will occur.
