Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday engaged in a heated exchange with Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni during an interview on the station’s Morning Show.

The confrontation occurred as Oseni questioned the former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman about the activities of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and President Bola Tinubu’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia.

Oshiomhole became visibly displeased with the presenter’s interviewing approach, accusing him of repeatedly interrupting his responses and attempting to answer questions on his behalf.

The senator insisted that Oseni should allow him to respond fully to the questions, stressing that interviewers were expected to listen to their guests and accord them the necessary respect.

Speaking during the exchange, Oshiomhole said he would not tolerate what he described as a pattern of asking questions and interrupting guests before they could provide their answers.

He also called for adherence to international interviewing standards, arguing that Oseni should exercise patience and allow him to address the issues raised.

“I won’t allow you to continue with this tradition of speaking to yourself and answering yourself. You asked three questions and I will reply them. And you have no right to interrupt when I am replying,” Oshiomhole said.

He further told the presenter that he expected to be treated with respect as a guest on the programme, adding: “Rufai, I am very ready for you.”

The disagreement arose as Oseni sought Oshiomhole’s position on the political activities of Wike and Uzodimma, alongside questions surrounding Tinubu’s foreign travels.

Responding to the issues, Oshiomhole maintained that Wike was not receiving preferential treatment over other political figures.
