Abia State has been selected to host the National Products Expo 2026, a major event under the National Products Fair designed to promote Made-in-Nigeria products, drive industrial growth and attract investment into the country’s manufacturing sector.

The five-day exhibition will be held at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, through a partnership between the Made in Nigeria Project Office and the Abia State Government, working through the Ministry of Industry and SMEs.

Organisers said the expo will bring together manufacturers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), investors, financial institutions, development partners and government agencies from across Nigeria to showcase locally produced goods and explore new business opportunities.

The National Products Expo forms part of the wider National Products Fair 2026, an initiative aimed at expanding market access for Nigerian businesses, boosting consumer confidence in locally manufactured products and strengthening the country’s industrial base.

Speaking during the official launch, Abia State Commissioner for Industry and SMEs, Mazi Michael Enyinnaya Akpara, said hosting the event would further establish Abia as a leading destination for manufacturing, commerce and investment.

According to him, the expo will create new opportunities for businesses in the state by connecting local manufacturers with buyers, investors and international markets, while showcasing Abia’s growing industrial potential.

Also speaking, Executive Director and National Coordinator of the Made in Nigeria Project Office, Hon. Nwabueze George, described the National Products Fair as a strategic platform created to spotlight the capabilities of Nigerian businesses.

“The National Products Expo is one of the flagship events under the National Products Fair. It brings together manufacturers, innovators and investors on one platform to showcase the quality of Nigerian products, encourage collaboration and open new opportunities for economic growth,” he said.

The event will feature product exhibitions, investment forums, business networking sessions, innovation showcases, branding and packaging clinics, as well as capacity-building seminars. Organisers expect thousands of exhibitors, entrepreneurs and visitors from across the country to participate.
