
A 22-year-old man, Daniel Samuel, has died from knife injuries shortly after reporting a violent attack to the police in Michika, Adamawa State.
The incident occurred on Sunday, April 12, when Samuel arrived at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Michika with visible stab wounds and blood stains on his body, alleging he had been attacked by two men.
He reportedly told officers that Dakiyar Tumba, 23, and Sini Luka, 31, both from the same area, ambushed him and stabbed him in the back with a knife during the assault.
Police authorities confirmed that the victim was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment after his report, but he was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The Adamawa State Police Command disclosed the development through its spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who said the suspects had been arrested in connection with conspiracy and culpable homicide.
According to the statement, the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered by operatives and will be presented as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Nguroje added that the victim’s body has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy as part of standard procedure.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, condemned the killing and directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure prosecution of those responsible.
The case has intensified concerns over violent attacks in parts of Adamawa State, as police continue efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
