Air Peace Diverts Lagos-Asaba Flight Back to Lagos Over Poor Visibility

Air Peace has diverted a scheduled flight from Lagos to Asaba back to Lagos after poor visibility around the Asaba airport runway disrupted the operation.

The incident involved Air Peace flight P47860, which was travelling from Lagos to Asaba when the airline decided to return to its point of departure because of the weather conditions.

The airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, confirmed the development in a statement, saying the reduced visibility made it necessary to divert the aircraft.

The diversion has also affected other flights across the airline’s network. Air Peace warned passengers that the disruption would lead to delays on some of its other scheduled services.

“We wish to inform you that Air Peace flight P47860, scheduled to operate from Lagos to Asaba, diverted to Lagos due to poor visibility around the runway in Asaba,” the statement said.

The airline apologised to affected passengers for the disruption and said operational decisions were being guided by safety considerations.

“This unforeseen development has disrupted the flight, and other flights across our operating network will be delayed,” Efe said.

Air Peace stressed that the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew remained its priority, assuring travellers that the decision to return the aircraft to Lagos was made with safety in mind.
