Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has sparked debate over money and gender roles in relationships after revealing how she would handle a situation where she earns more than her partner.

The “Bloody Samaritan” singer made the comments while appearing on the Wahala podcast, where she discussed financial differences between couples and the expectations she would have of a man she is dating.

“If I date a man who I am richer than, I will control him. But even if I am richer, he will still be providing, and I won’t let him know I have a lot of money,” she said.
