Canada Lists Eight Companies Eligible to Hire Foreign Workers Without LMIA

The Canadian government has identified eight companies participating in its Global Hypergrowth Project (GHP) whose eligible foreign recruits can obtain Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)-exempt work permits through the country’s Innovation Stream.

The initiative is designed to help high-growth Canadian companies expand more quickly while making it easier to recruit highly skilled international talent.

Canadian authorities have also extended the Innovation Stream pilot programme until March 22, 2028, creating more opportunities for qualified professionals, including Nigerians, seeking employment in Canada.

Companies participating in the programme

1. Ada Support Inc.

Based in Toronto, Ada Support develops artificial intelligence-powered customer service automation tools for chat, messaging and voice platforms.

The company offers benefits including stock options, health and lifestyle spending accounts, parental leave top-ups, unlimited vacation, learning and development funding, and a home-office allowance.

Available roles have included customer solutions consultant, senior demand generation manager, engineering team lead, senior cloud security engineer, technical product manager, sales development representative and senior data analyst.

2. AlayaCare

Headquartered in Montreal, AlayaCare develops cloud-based software for organisations providing home and community healthcare services.

The company has advertised vacancies such as customer success programme manager, senior integration developer, product manager, financial planning and analysis analyst, AI and automation specialist, and customer enablement specialist.

Employee benefits include flexible vacation, healthcare coverage, career development opportunities and team events.

3. Clarius Mobile Health

Clarius Mobile Health, based in Vancouver, develops wireless handheld ultrasound scanners and artificial intelligence-enabled imaging technology.

The company offers flexible work arrangements, professional development funding and volunteer opportunities.

Recent openings have included manufacturing and materials technician and inside sales representative positions.

4. Clio

Legal technology company Clio develops cloud-based software for law firms and is headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in Toronto and Calgary.

Employee benefits include equity options, retirement savings matching, at least four weeks of paid leave, parental leave, health insurance and wellness programmes.

Previously advertised vacancies include account executive, accounting manager, administrative assistant, customer success manager, director of sales, product management roles and IT procurement specialist.

5. Lightspeed Commerce

Montreal-based Lightspeed Commerce provides point-of-sale and payment technology for retailers, restaurants and hospitality businesses.

The company offers flexible paid time off, remote work options, equity plans, pension contributions, training opportunities, wellness benefits and paid volunteer leave.

Open positions have included AI enablement specialist, AI marketing technologist, growth marketing director, executive assistant, software developer, product manager and senior marketing coordinator.

6. CellCarta

CellCarta is a health and life sciences company headquartered in Montreal, specialising in laboratory testing and biomarker research.

At the time of publication, the company was offering internship opportunities but had no regular vacancies in Canada.

7. Vive Crop Protection

Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, Vive Crop Protection develops agricultural technologies using its proprietary Allosperse Delivery Technology to improve crop protection products.

The company had no Canadian job openings at the time, with only United States-based vacancies listed.

8. Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group

Based in Blainville, Quebec, Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group focuses on women’s health and treatments for rare diseases.

The company exports pharmaceutical products to more than 50 countries but was not recruiting at the time of publication.

The Innovation Stream is expected to continue supporting Canadian businesses in attracting global talent while creating more pathways for skilled foreign professionals to work in the country without requiring an LMIA.
