Former Chelsea striker Carlton Cole has criticised Morgan Rogers despite the England international scoring in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Hull City.

Rogers found the net during the Premier League encounter, but his overall display drew criticism from Cole, who felt the midfielder gave possession away too frequently.

Speaking on The Dressing Room podcast, Cole questioned Rogers’ decision-making during the match and said the player appeared unlike his usual self.

Cole pointed to one particular moment after Rogers had already scored, when the Chelsea player attempted to dribble forward despite having limited options.

“He had already scored his goal. I see him dribbling into no man’s land,” Cole said.

The former Chelsea forward also claimed Rogers repeatedly lost possession during the game, expressing surprise at the number of times the player gave the ball away.

“He lost the ball so many times. I was like, ‘Morgan, this is not like you’. What is going on?” Cole added.

Despite the criticism, Rogers’ goal helped Chelsea secure a point from the Premier League fixture as both sides shared the spoils.
