Cross River Police Strengthen Security Partnership With DSS, Air Force

The Cross River State Police Command has strengthened its collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Air Force to improve intelligence sharing, coordinated operations and rapid response to emerging security threats.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, disclosed this during separate strategic engagements with the State Director of the DSS, Mr Oluwole Faluyi, and the Commander of the 305 Special Mobility Group, Calabar, Group Captain B. N. Samaila.

Ordue described intelligence as a critical component of modern policing, stressing that security agencies must work together to identify and neutralise threats before they escalate.

He emphasised the importance of timely, accurate and actionable intelligence in preventing crime and responding effectively to security challenges across the state.

According to the commissioner, closer cooperation among the police, DSS, Air Force and other security agencies would strengthen Cross River’s security architecture and improve the protection of lives and property.

During his meeting with Faluyi, discussions focused on intelligence sharing, information exchange and improved inter-agency coordination, particularly in identifying, preventing and responding to security threats.

“Stronger collaboration among security agencies remains critical to sustaining peace and protecting lives and property across Cross River State,” Ordue said.

At his meeting with the Nigerian Air Force commander, the police chief called for greater operational synergy between the two agencies, particularly in areas requiring complementary capabilities and coordinated deployment.

Ordue said effective security operations require seamless cooperation among sister agencies, as well as professional communication, mutual support and coordinated responses.

In response, Samaila assured the commissioner of the continued support of the Nigerian Air Force in strengthening joint security efforts across Cross River.

He also pledged to maintain a continuous and harmonious partnership with the police in addressing security challenges in the state.

Ordue reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and stronger collaboration with the DSS, Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies to prevent crime, protect lives and property, and sustain peace across Cross River State.
