Davido, Rema, Burna Boy Set To Light Up 2026 FIFA World Cup As Nigeria’s Afrobeats Dominates Global Stage

Nigeria’s music industry is heading for one of its biggest moments on the world stage as three of the country’s biggest stars — Davido, Rema and Burna Boy — take centre stage in activities surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA confirmed that Davido will headline the FIFA Countdown Concert scheduled for June 10 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star is expected to perform alongside Major Lazer and other international acts as excitement builds ahead of the tournament.

The concert is one of three major shows planned across the World Cup host nations — the United States, Canada and Mexico — as FIFA prepares for what is expected to be the biggest World Cup tournament in history.

Davido’s latest FIFA appearance further strengthens his growing relationship with global football. The singer previously featured on “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” the first official soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, before performing during the tournament’s closing ceremony.

FIFA made the announcement through its official social media channels, revealing that the Los Angeles concert would be broadcast worldwide, giving millions of football and music fans another opportunity to experience Afrobeats on an international platform.

Meanwhile, Rema is also set to feature prominently during the World Cup celebrations. FIFA has already named the “Calm Down” hitmaker among performers lined up for the tournament’s opening ceremonies in the United States.

The Nigerian singer will share the stage with global stars including Katy Perry, Future, J Balvin, Lisa, Anitta, Tyla and Michael Bublé in what is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment showcases connected to the tournament.

Burna Boy has equally secured a major role after collaborating with Colombian pop icon Shakira on “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Released through Sony Music Latin and FIFA, the song combines Afrobeats and Latin pop influences while promoting themes of unity, resilience and global togetherness through football.

The trio’s involvement highlights the explosive rise of Afrobeats globally and signals Nigeria’s growing cultural influence far beyond music charts. With Davido, Rema and Burna Boy all playing key roles at the tournament, Nigerian entertainment is set to dominate conversations as millions of fans worldwide tune in for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
