Fuel Price Drops Again as MRS Cuts Petrol to ₦1,210 Per Litre in Abuja

Motorists in Abuja are getting another slight relief at the pumps as MRS filling stations and other petroleum outlets cut petrol prices following a fresh reduction by Dangote Refinery.

A market survey on Monday found that MRS stations in Abuja and surrounding areas were selling petrol at ₦1,210 per litre, down from ₦1,260. The latest adjustment represents a ₦50 reduction per litre.

Other major fuel retailers have also lowered their prices. AA Rano and several filling stations along the Kubwa Expressway reduced petrol prices by about ₦25 per litre, bringing the product to roughly ₦1,275 per litre.

The latest cuts come days after Dangote Refinery announced a reduction in the prices of petrol and Automotive Gas Oil, commonly known as diesel. The refinery’s price adjustment has continued to influence pump prices across parts of the Nigerian downstream petroleum market.

The latest development also marks another round of price reductions within a short period. About eight days earlier, MRS and other filling stations had cut petrol prices by between ₦25 and ₦45 per litre.

The repeated adjustments are likely to keep motorists and other fuel consumers watching pump prices closely, particularly as retailers respond to changes in their supply costs.

For motorists in Abuja, however, prices remain uneven across filling stations, meaning the cost of petrol can still vary depending on the retailer and location.
