Kamo State Breaks Silence on Funke Akindele’s Absence From ‘Star Lomo’ Premiere

Nigerian content creator-turned-actor Kamo State has addressed the absence of his godmother, actress Funke Akindele, from the premiere of his debut cinema movie, Star Lomo.

Akindele’s absence from the premiere, held on Sunday, had sparked speculation among fans and social media users, with some linking it to an alleged disagreement between the actress and Kamo.

However, Kamo has dismissed the speculation, explaining that Akindele was outside the country when the premiere took place.

In a post on X, the actor urged members of the public to stop speculating about his relationship with the actress, insisting that they remain on good terms.

“I woke up to see different opinions online about Iyamii and myself. Please we are on good terms,” Kamo wrote.

He explained that Akindele’s absence was simply because she was out of the country and said the matter had already been discussed between them.

“She missed my premiere because she wasn’t in the country. So please don’t assume otherwise. We have spoken about it, and she is going to support this film,” he added.

Kamo also appealed to fans and social media users to respect their personal relationship and avoid drawing conclusions from Akindele’s absence at the premiere.

“I would appreciate it if our personal relationship isn’t speculated on,” he said.

Star Lomo marks Kamo State’s debut in cinema filmmaking, with the premiere attracting several personalities from Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
