Nedu Wazobia Raises Alarm Over Nigeria’s Rising Cost of Living

Media personality Nedu Wazobia has expressed concern over the rising cost of living in Nigeria, saying survival has become a daily struggle for many citizens.

In a recent video, Nedu highlighted the growing cost of essential needs, including school fees, house rent, food, transportation, fuel and healthcare. He said the financial pressure was affecting both individuals and families across the country.

The media personality noted that even Nigerians who earn regular salaries are struggling to meet their basic needs as household expenses continue to rise.

Nedu also said the economic pressure was forcing some people into actions they might never have considered under different circumstances, as they search for ways to survive.

“People are doing things they never imagined they would do, hurting people, betraying people, cutting corners, not necessarily because they were born wicked but because survival has become a daily battle in this country,” he said.

He argued that the situation required an economy in which hard work could provide a meaningful livelihood for ordinary citizens, particularly parents trying to meet the needs of their children.

“We just want an economy where working hard can actually mean something, where a parent can provide for their children without stress and where ordinary Nigerians can wake up tomorrow with a little less fear and a little more hope. At least we deserve that,” Nedu said.

His comments come amid continued public discussions about the rising cost of basic necessities and the financial pressures facing households across Nigeria. The comedian and broadcaster’s remarks have drawn attention to the wider impact of economic hardship beyond the prices of individual goods and services.
