Edo Police Arrest Prophet Over Alleged Abduction of Five Girls

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old prophet, Nicholas Nusa, over the alleged abduction of five girls in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the state.

Nusa, who is the overseer of Divine Grace Church along Imoga Road in Ibillo, is also accused of impregnating one of the girls, a 15-year-old.

According to the police, the teenager recently underwent a Caesarean section and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. She has also been placed under the care of the Brave Heart Organisation.

The police said the five children were allegedly taken from the Ibillo and Imoga communities on separate occasions between September 2025 and April 2026.

The command alleged that the girls were subsequently kept at the suspect’s residence.

Police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem said Nusa was arrested after the command received information about the alleged offences.

Ikoedem further said the suspect allegedly admitted to the offences during interrogation by investigators. The police, however, said investigations into the case are still ongoing.

The command is also working to locate and reunite the children with their families, according to the spokesperson.

The police have not disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged abductions or whether other suspects are being investigated in connection with the case.
